The 19th European Conference on Literacy “Literacy in the New Landscape of Communication: Research, Education and the Everyday” created a forum for the presentation and discussion of findings of current research into the range of contemporary forms (‘traditional’ and ‘new’) and uses of literacy in everyday settings. More than 350 professionals attended the conference and shared their work and ideas (see Programme & Book of abstracts).
The symposium Family Literacy – Focus on Roma Families proposed and facilitated by representatives of CILSDGC and IoE brought into the attention of the conference participants the LIT3 project outcomes. After presenting the LIT3 project (see LIT3 project presentation), we described the LIT3-Family Literacy Programme’s rationale, processes and results across the three different contexts (RO, ME, SK) and presented policy recommendations and guidance based on the findings of the pilot programme and the partnership’s previous FLP experiences (see the presentation). During the symposium, participants engaged in relevant (for our work) discussions.
